Aavi pathiri / Steamed pathiri


Now this one is from Vanitha.....though I added some ingredients on my own to suite our palette...To my surprise, my kids - the food lover and the fussy eater, both enjoyed this palaharam / tea snack very well.



Ingredients

Biriyani rice - 2 cups, soaked for 2 hrs
Small onion - 2
Garlic - 1 clove
Salt -  as per taste
Grated coconut - 3/4 cup

Grind all the above to form a thin batter, by adding enough water

Minced meat - 1 cup (you can get the recipe for minced meat here)



Method

In the idli steamer, pour enough water and let it boil. Meanwhile, brush the idli impressions with some oil and pour a ladle full of thin batter into it. Top it with the prepared minced meat. Steam this for about 12- 15 min until the pathiris are firm.



Enjoy with a hot cup of tea.
